Position Summary: Lead a group of production cells and oversee and set priorities in order to meet production requirements.

Duties and responsibilities: Work directly with engineering on implementing new processes, process improvements and new product introductions, maintain a safe and collaborative environment for fellow associates. Work towards continually improving production methods, assisting associates with training and development, suggest process improvements and methods and develop efficient, productive and high quality production cells, assist with the manufacturability of products and the introduction of new product lines into production, help to evaluate new processes, equipment suppliers and technology in order to facilitate continuous improvement of overall efficiency and quality.

General Qualifications: Associates Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Machine Tool or the equivalent. A qualified candidate should possess some supervisory background and/or the willingness to lead production cell associates and possess the ability to work and grow within a collaborative environment. Experience with Lean production systems would be helpful and desirable.

Education:  Must have a B.S. in M.E., M.E.T., or related field.

Experience:  Must have at least 2 to 5 years experience in a Manufacturing Engineering position. Prefer experience launching new products and processes.

Description

•  Gage R&R studies and improvement of poor gaging.
•  Process capability studies and process improvements.
•  CAD design using Solidworks.
•  CNC Programming.
•  Fixture and gage design.
•  Shop floor troubleshooting and problem solving in heavy machining environment.
•  Creating and updating shop floor layouts.
•  Working on Kaizen teams to implement Lean Manufacturing and manufacturing improvements.
•  Lead new process development and current product design improvements.
•  Assure manufacturing has the appropriate floor documentation and tools to execute production.

•  Design, develop, and launch new processes to support product derivative variations and special orders.

•  Provide technical expertise to product engineering, manufacturing and quality.
•  Improve existing Processes to address issues with manufacturing and quality.
•  Use tools such as GD&T and tolerance stack-ups to facilitate Process robustness.
•  Manage Process related issues and projects as assigned.
•  Write Capital Expenditure Requisitions and procure new equipment.
•  Application of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
